HRIS & Payroll Specialist

Location: Mokena, IL 

Status: Full-Time

The HRIS Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely. The HRIS Payroll Specialist assists in centralizing payroll processes and supports the maintenance of employee records within the HRIS and payroll systems.

  • Project manager, with the ability to successfully support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting essential payroll deadlines

What You’ll Do:

  • Enter, update and maintain all Human Resources and Payroll data
  • Capture garnishments, child support orders, and all other payroll deductions into the payroll system
  • Generate monthly employee demographic reports including new hire, termination, and employee count reports
  • Ensure accurate and appropriate deductions are withheld from employee paychecks
  • Complete bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll and benefit audits  
  • Ensure full compliance with all state and federal payroll regulations as it pertains to current minimum wage laws and appropriate state and local taxes
  • Research and provide employee paycheck and timecard and paid time off inquiries
  • Calculate and ensure that the vacation payouts for eligible terminated employees are accurately processed and paid
  • Process manual payroll check calculations for missed employee payroll checks as requested
  • Maintain employee benefit accrual hours in the HRIS system in accordance with Westside Policies
  • Compare and reconcile Medical and Life Insurance billings with payroll deductions.

What You’ll Bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in payroll and HRIS Systems
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets
  • Team Player with exceptional Customer Service Skills
