When Should You Consider an Autism Evaluation?

Early identification is important, especially for kids under age 5. Potential signs of autism or another developmental difference include:

  • Delayed speech or limited vocabulary
  • Repetitive behaviors (e.g., lining up toys, repeating words/phrases, etc.)
  • Limited eye contact or difficulty engaging with others
  • Strong reliance on routines or becoming upset with small changes
  • Sensory sensitivities, such as being overwhelmed by sounds, textures, or lights

If you’re considering an autism evaluation in Frankfort, our team is here to support you. We offer virtual diagnostic testing so you can get answers sooner, and from the comfort of home.

Please read, first off the Therapist we had was OUTSTANDING, MISS Maura!!! She was absolutely terrific and can not praise her enough, she absolutely helped my boy. The reason I'm giving this a 1 star is due to the billing department and the absolute fiasco that ensued. Long story short Westside was not billing us correctly so over a year later they send me a bill for $1600 saying outstanding balance and I still owe this amount, this was due to them changing billing software or some BS. We discussed with them and they agreed that due to their negligence they would put us on a payment plan for an amount of $1200 and call it even, COOL! Payment plan would be through credit card auto pay once a month. IF I still owe you money fine, you are willing to work with me and cut me a break for your mistake I'll except this. Fast forward a year, agreement was signed on Nov 14th 2023, come now Jan 2025, was review my credit card statement, interesting was why am I still being charged this should have ended. Come to find out I've been charged $1800, I should have caught this sooner, I call billing they look into it, "No you owe us $1600" I have and agreement which I sent them for $1200, oooo there is fine print, YES we know. The fine print Please be advised this may not be a final balance as there may still be outstanding claims that we are waiting for your insurance to process. These charges were from over a year old and verified while I was still paying a co-pay for each visit. Okay fine I just want this resolved I owe you $1600 fine but I have paid you $1800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You owe ME $200. Yes it looks like we over charged you, we will refund you $200 but you still have a balance so technically you still owe us.................... WHAT HOW DOES THAT EVEN MAKE SENSE, ooo these are for charges for the same time frame from when the payment plan was originally agreed on!!!!!!!! They got me for an additional $400 due to the fact I don't have the energy or time to make this right. If you are reading this and take your child to any Westside, be vigilante make sure you are paying attention and do not assume they are charging you the correct amount, the billing department is a complete CLOWN SHOW. Therapists are great but they will ROB you(BILLING)!!!!

I do not recommend this location. We had a much better experience at the New Lenox location. The office seems poorly ran. They blame you for their errors and make up lies to cover their mistakes. They never ran my insurance up front, claimed it wouldnt be covered, they aren't up front with how much will be paid. Terrible and disappointing experience.

Our experience couldn't be any more positive if we tried. Both of our daughters have been through various therapies here. Miss Melissa, Miss Becca, and Miss Ashley are all absolute treasures. Miss Melissa was our first experience with Westside in Orland Park and is the reason we landed at the Frankfort location and we couldn't be more grateful. Following Miss Melissa over to the Frankfort location gave us the opportunity to work with Miss Becca and Miss Ashley who have given our girls more than we can put into words. All three of these women are so dedicated and put parents at such ease with the entire process. We will be forever grateful for them.

FAQs

How long does it take to get an autism evaluation in Frankfurt?

With our SAIL program, most families complete the full evaluation process in 2 to 3 days—compared to the months-long waits typical at many providers. The entire process is conducted virtually, so there’s no need to travel or take time off work for in-person appointments.

How much does an autism evaluation cost?

At Westside, autism diagnostic testing through our SAIL program is completely free. There’s no cost to the family and no obligation to continue with any services after testing is complete. We believe early answers shouldn’t come with a financial barrier.

Autism therapy for children in Frankfort focuses on building communication, behavioral, and social skills through structured and personalized interventions. The program uses evidence-based methods, such as ABA, to support development while meeting a child’s unique needs. The primary purpose of this program is to encourage children to express themselves ‌freely, gain independence, and navigate everyday life with confidence.

What age groups does Westside treat at its Frankfort clinic?

Westside Children’s Therapy supports children across various developmental stages, from toddlers through eighteen. However, some programs, such as ABA therapy, begin at 3. We also provide one-on-one counseling services for adults, children, and caregivers. Our programs are tailored to meet age-specific needs, ensuring children receive care that helps them grow and become independent.

Who can benefit from ABA therapy?

ABA therapy is beneficial for children with autism and other developmental challenges that affect communication, social behavior, and social interaction. Any child who needs structured support to build essential life skills can benefit from this program and develop positive behavior while gaining confidence in performing daily activities.

How long does autism therapy usually last?

Focused ABA treatment for autism is typically designed to last 10 to 25 hours. However, the treatment duration varies based on each child’s goals, communication needs, and progress. Some children may benefit from short-term focused support, while others may require consistent intervention. That’s why our therapists adjust plans to align them with a child’s development needs.

What happens during an ABA therapy session?

During ABA therapy sessions, our therapists use structured activities, play-based lessons, and positive reinforcement to help children learn new skills. They customize sessions to address challenges in behavior, communication, and social interaction. We closely monitor progress and adjust techniques to keep children engaged and motivated.

How involved are parents in the therapy process?

Parents play a vital role in all our therapy programs. We include them in their children’s growth journey, provide regular updates, and offer guidance to ensure learning continuity at home. By working with parents as a team, we ensure consistency and strive for stronger outcomes.
