  • Repetitive behaviors (e.g., lining up toys, repeating words/phrases, etc.)
  • Limited eye contact or difficulty engaging with others
  • Strong reliance on routines or becoming upset with small changes
  • Sensory sensitivities, such as being overwhelmed by sounds, textures, or lights

If you’re considering an autism evaluation in Willowbrook, our team is here to support you. We offer virtual diagnostic testing so you can get answers sooner, and from the comfort of home.

My newborn saw Mary for a feeding evaluation for I had some concerns with his latch during breastfeeding. Simply put; Mary is amazing. She’s so easy to talk to, she is so knowledgeable and above all, knows how to translate that knowledge into something palpable for a very tired mom to understand. After the evaluation she sent a follow up email with the details of everything we went over in the evaluation and clearly explained the exercises we needed to work on. I also should mention that most places have a long wait list. The team at Westside used magic and got my newborn in right away. Thank you Mary for being so passionate about what you do!

Westside Autism Therapy has been the most considerate and accommodating facility for our daughter since August 2021. Beginning with intake, the staff were extremely thorough with their initial screening with our 2 year-old at the time. Every aspect of our daughter’s therapy needs were considered, to include Feeding, OT, PT, ST and most importantly, ABA. Before diving into the experiences we’ve had and progress we’ve seen. We would first like to commend, Alicia and Ibrahim for always welcoming us at drop off every morning with nothing but great words of our daughter’s progress. Additionally, Alicia truly showed the upmost diligence in servitude and resourcefulness in handling insurance issues that eventually arose which was finally handled by the upper echelons of the company. This was an astounding result for us as we came to a point of almost complete despair in continuing our daughter’s much needed therapy sessions.

Since, August of 2021, our daughter has excelled and surpassed expectations of the lead ABA therapist of the facility. Our daughter went from having ZERO eye contact to actively engaging the therapists with little to no prompting. Her communication, although remains non-verbal, has drastically increased with more than subtle hand cues which has made communication more effective on our receiving end. Our daughter has become more physically active and excited to partake in park play and running, thanks to OT and PT. What blew us away, thanks to ST, was our daughter’s ability to now use a picture diagrams (PECS) to communicate her needs. At now 3 years old, she is able to point out common objects and colors after verbal cues. She responds to her name, especially when she’s up to mischief, lol.

Functional training at Westside, through all therapies has helped her in developing both fine and gross motor skills. One thing that completely took our breath away was our daughter’s ability to interact with other children, being that this a trait that is extremely lacking with many Autistic children. Her BCBA Therapist (Dean) keeps us updated on weekly basis on our daughter’s progress while educating us as parents in the aspects of Behavioral Analysis, making it easy to understand her behavioral trends and progress. We certainly couldn't have wished for any one more passionate about their career and our daughters' care.

Lately, our daughter has been trying to get verbal words out. We know that she is steadily getting a day closer to that every day. She’s become more independent, every day, and she expresses her love to us more with hugs and snuggles.

Thank you to all the staff of Westside Autism Therapy Services of Willowbrook. Your hard work and efforts will not go unnoticed. Your staff are the epitome of holistic therapy in Autistic children and you all have proven to be the model facility of excellent therapy services.

Big shout out to
Mary (Feeding Therapy)
Ali (Occupational Therapy)
Nicole (Physical Therapy)
Dean (BCBA)
Peter (Speech)
Maddie (RBT)
Shay (RBT)
Alanna (RBT)
Jess (RBT)

Thank you all!

My son is attending Willowbrook location since December 2021. There were times we were skeptical about his progress but staff were amazing to guide through all hurdles. There were times we have to cancel therapy at last minute due to health concerns or transport issues, front desk helped with all situations. ABA therapist Ashley was very patience with our son and she regularly communicated strategies she used at clinic and what worked for my son. Therapist Aids are amazing. Specially Dainika ( sorry if misspelled ). She always greets my son with big smiles and shows excitement to have him. Another therapist aids kristin also understands my son a lot. She shares all fun moments he had in the therapy.

My son has improved significantly his attention, participation in activities and certain behaviors. We are very happy with location.

Good luck to anyone who is reading this review.

We worked with many staff at the Willowbrook location (scheduling, billing, therapists) during our baby’s 7 months of therapy, and all were amazing in her care and our assistance. Their big hearts were appreciated when we felt scared and overwhelmed during an unfamiliar journey. With their help, our torticollis baby graduated today!

FAQs

How long does it take to get an autism evaluation in Willowbrook?

With our SAIL program, most families complete the full evaluation process in 2 to 3 days—compared to the months-long waits typical at many providers. The entire process is conducted virtually, so there’s no need to travel or take time off work for in-person appointments.

How much does an autism evaluation cost?

At Westside, autism diagnostic testing through our SAIL program is completely free. There’s no cost to the family and no obligation to continue with any services after testing is complete. We believe early answers shouldn’t come with a financial barrier.

What ages does Westside treat at its Willowbrook clinic?

Westside Children’s Therapy’s Willowbrook clinic supports children from infancy to adolescence. However, services like ABA therapy in Willowbrook are recommended to start from the age of 3. All programs are customized to align with each child’s developmental stages, whether it’s through continued therapy or early intervention. This ensures children receive proper support to grow and develop new skills.

How can counseling help my child’s social and emotional growth?

Counseling involves discussions between your child and a pediatric counselor about personal, social, or emotional problems. The counselor helps your child recognize complex feelings and changes in behavior and thinking. Through children’s counseling in Willowbrook, our counselors offer structured sessions and tools to improve confidence, emotional awareness, and the ability to navigate social interactions.

How do you approach children who feel anxious about therapy?

We focus on building trust through familiar routines and gradual engagement to make your child feel comfortable and less anxious. Our therapists adjust sessions according to the child’s pace, use positive reinforcement, and create predictable session structures. The chief motive of these methods is to reduce anxiety and help your child feel secure enough to participate actively in each session.

How soon can my child begin ABA therapy after the initial evaluation?

Following the consultation, our ABA therapy for children in Willowbrook typically begins as soon as scheduling permits. Our team ensures timely access to care, defines clear recommendations, and shares timelines. That way, there’s a smooth transition from initial evaluation into therapy without confusion.

Do you coordinate care between multiple therapy disciplines?

Yes, our team coordinates across multiple therapy disciplines to maintain consistency and increase the effectiveness of our therapies. Our qualified therapists regularly collaborate, whether combining occupational, speech, or ABA behavioral therapy in Willowbrook. This unified treatment approach helps ensure consistency in strategies and more effective progress across diverse developmental areas.

Does Westside accept insurance for pediatric therapy services?

Westside works with a range of insurance providers, including Optum, Tricare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Aetna, to make it easy for families to access care. You can speak to our team to verify benefits.

Please note that we are currently not accepting Medicaid.
