Dr. Marilyn Featherston

Dr. Marilyn Featherston earned her medical degree from Touro University in California and completed pediatric residency training at RUSH university medical center here in Chicago. She completed her fellowship training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and is board-certified in developmental behavioral pediatrics and general pediatrics. Dr. Featherston currently serves as the division head of the developmental pediatrics division at RUSH University Children’s hospital where she works on a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and treat children with developmental disabilities. She is passionate about helping children thrive while supporting the families who are at the heart of their care.

Prior to her medical career, Dr. Featherston worked as a behavioral therapist for an autism center in their therapeutic preschool program. She brings her knowledge of behavioral therapy principals into her medical practice and values close collaboration with families, therapists, and other professionals to understand each child as an individual, recognize their unique strengths, and develop meaningful goals that promote their success. Throughout her career, Dr. Featherston has worked to help empower parents to understand and advocate for their child. She is committed to creating a culture of compassionate, family-centered care where every child is celebrated for who they are, and every family feels heard, supported, and valued. She believes that when families and professionals partner together, children have the greatest opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.

Dr. Featherston specializes working with young children with autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and genetic syndromes.
