Megan Covey
Megan Covey, M.S., CCC-SLP/L, is an ASHA certified and state licensed speech-language pathologist who earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Miami University and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Latin from Augustana College. She brings a breadth of clinical and supervisory experience from roles including Adjunct Clinical Supervisor at Midwestern University, SLP and Adult Program Specialist at Turning Pointe Autism Foundation, and SLP positions at STEPS for Kids and Physio Kids.
Megan’s areas of interest include pediatric speech-language disorders, early intervention services, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and assistive technology. She cares deeply about making sure people can access the support they need to communicate, and she actively contributes to the field through presentations at AAC in the Cloud (2025, 2026), #TalkingAAC (2024), and AbleU (2023), as well as poster sessions at numerous ASHA conventions. Her work also includes co-publishing research on the “Test accuracy of pragmatic language and social communication tests” (Timler & Covey, 2021), editing for the USSAAC SpeakUp Blog, serving on the USSAAC Advocacy and Public Policy Committee and the ISHA Billing and Reimbursement committee, and serving as a Co-Star for ASHA.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys swimming, golfing, reading, crafting, kayaking, and learning new things—along with fun favorites like Minecraft, Mario Kart, trivia, and chess with her son, husband, and dog.
